Quality assurance

Quality assurance

When it comes to quality and food safety, we are not easily satisfied by Epos. We have very strict requirements and have a proactive policy on questionable ingredients.

We decide whether we want to have some resources in-house or not. If that is not the case, we consult with our customers, and get the solution together. Compliance with laws and regulations alone does not guarantee success. The value of Epos is precisely that joint consultation, to think along with our customers and respond quickly.

At Epos we guarantee quality and food safety at various levels within the organization. You can find them in our fundamentals, general procedures and specific controls. A good example of the latter is our warehous, which meets the most stringent requirements. But also training and metal detection.

Procurement and entry control

Also important is the procurement and inspection of raw materials. The quality of our raw materials is greatly responsible for the quality and consistency of our end products. Therefore, we mainly buy high-quality, single raw materials with a low germ count. By making conscious use of resources with minimal allergens and E numbers, you can also better build your specifications. The product specifications of Epos processed through a computerized specification program. They contain information on, among other nutritional values, allergens, shelf life and the origin of the raw materials. Because we work with a wide range of raw materials, building a trusting relationship with our suppliers is very important.

Continuous improvement

Continuous improvement

Quality thinking has to do with continuously improving yourself. As an organization keep asking yourself whether something can be better or different. Our quality department translates that in the 'fine tuning' of the implemented quality management system. To keep yourself sharp and gain more insight into possible improvements you have to carry out validation, verification and (internal) audits. This allows you to realize that quality is not something of a separate department, but of all departments together. The system always is just the tool, you decide if it is a succes or not

Training and personal development

Training and personal development

Consistent quality and control of food safety also has to do with the quality of our people. Expanding and retaining knowledge is of great value for Epos. In all fields and in all departments there is much attention in training and personal development of employees. In this way we are able to continually increase our quality. We make every effort to ensure that all our staff are good partners for both large and small customers. Employees appreciate the high degree of independence and the development opportunities within Epos. The involvement and commitment is only set to increase and this provides numerous benefits to the customer.

Asking questions until the source

Asking questions until the source

At Epos we find that a good quality manager must always use their intuition and common sense. It is our experience that you should never just take anything, but always have to ask for the source of information. We do not mean that people knowingly provide false information, but often they do not have sufficient knowledge of the matter. Working with outdated legislation could result in applying the wrong standard, is a good example. This allows for product contents to be incorrect. In the list of ingredients are then listed allergenic ingredients that can not be found on the allergens list or vice versa. Thinking for yourself and keep asking are very important tools
